The Peugeot Sculptor TV commercial from Italian agency Euro RSCG, now occasionally glimpsed in Australian cinemas and on TV, has won high praise in The Australian newspaper's media section.

No Butts about Bollywood

"It's a top effort", media critic Paul McIntyre said. The fact it's for a car brand makes it sensational. If only all car marketers and their advertising agencies would take heed: no speed or throbbing horsepower needed; no blatant and formulaic product shots; curiously exotic, engaging and subtly humorous with a great twist for a finale. Peugeot deserves rap.

It would have taken a bootful of vision, plenty of creative latitude and some guts for the marketing bods to sign-off the concepts. For their efforts they have lucked upon some magic. Testament to its class, this ad romped around the world by e-mail. It was to be shot in Cuba, but India won out. Just as well.
